In an effort to make accounts more secure many hosts are implementing mandatory 2-factor authentication and encouraging users to share access with delegation instead of sharing login credentials. In this post we’ll run through how to provide delegate access to your GreenGeeks account. If you’d rather have professionals handle hosting access, security, and setup for you, our Website Design services include full technical configuration and ongoing support.
Log into your GreenGeeks account
Create a GreenGeeks account by selecting your hosting package on https://www.greengeeks.com/ or login at https://my.greengeeks.com/login. Once logged into your dashboard, click your profile icon in the top-right corner of the page and select My Profile (Fig. 1). If you need help keeping track of multiple hosting accounts and website tools, our guide to website maintenance & DIY tools is a great resource.

Invite a user
On the My Profile page select the last tab, Account Access. In the Approved Access window, click Invite (Fig. 2). If you want to add an extra layer of protection for your WordPress website, check out our step-by-step guide to setting up iThemes Security.

Once you click Invite, a popup will appear. Enter the email of the account you want to share access with then use the drop down to select the appropriate service. Once the invite gets sent out, the user you invited will need to log into their account and accept it. Then you’re all set! As a final step, we also recommend enabling SSL on your site—our guide on setting up HTTPS explains why it’s essential for security and SEO.
