The website redesign for Waterloo Media features custom posts for their radio stations, customized sliders for showing video and image headers, custom fields for easy updating, and custom templates for the different page layouts and content.

For Search Engine Optimization, we added keyword rich SEO titles and descriptions to each page. Their images were also updated to included keyword rich ALT tags and keyword rich filenames.
AWD also added their website and sitemaps to Google Search Console for indexing and search statistics. Since this project was for a redesign of a previous website we made sure to match the existing URL structure for their pages and we created redirects for new or replaced URLS. We used their previous sitemap as a guide of their old page URLs and we created redirects to their new pages, which helps search engines and previously bookmarked pages get found. This also helps prevent broken links to any old pages and allows for search engines to properly scan the website.
Since page speed is also an essential ranking factor for SEO, we used lazyload techniques for loading video and images. This helps load the page faster by showing only the needed elements for what is being viewed in the browser.
